The Department of Applied Health Sciences is one of four departments in the College of Health and Human Services.
The departmental programs focus on promoting improved quality of life in all communities through education and health promotion/prevention The AHS Departments is home to 3 disciplines: Human Development and Family Science, Nutrition, and Public Health. Undergraduate degree are offered in all 3 areas; at the graduate level the department offers a Master of Public Health (MPH).
An ongoing demand exists for competent professionals and specialists in the areas of nutrition education, family life education, health promotion, and disease prevention in both the public and private sectors.
Graduates from the programs will be well prepared for careers in academic, private, and governmental settings.
